is the Old Testament relevant?

Image
Q: Some people say the Old Testament is irrelevant and we should ignore it. Advice?  A: Absolutely ignore and run from anyone who says or teaches the OT is unnecessary . Heres some things to consider.... The OT tells us about creation, God's perfection, man's fall, when death entered the world, that God promised a Messiah Savior [in Eden], it teaches about the temporary sacrifices and why they are needed. It tells of God's universal moral law and specific laws like the 10C. OT constant shows God's holiness and perfection, righteousness, justice, and guidance. It sets precedents for national laws [ which America is founded on Biblically]. It gives shadows, types and all of those points to Christ. It talks about forgiveness, restoration, & love. It gives prophecies on Christ thru the Prophets and teaches on holy living. The OT points to Christ, additionally still has prophecies yet to be fulfilled. And, it gives wisdom in proverbs, and great lessons across the OT. Bt...

What is the diff btwn Calvinist and Reformed?

Q: What is the diffrernce between calvinist and reformed? A: Calvinism is simply the 5 biblical doctrinal points of Salvation aka Doctrine of Soteriology, explained as T.U.L.I.P.  made popular or clearly explained by Calvin, who was teaching in the Reformation era. Both groups have views concerning end times, called Doctrine of Echatology. Calvinism is the largest and most well known part of Reformed Theology, but Reformed Theology is more than just Calvinism. A Calvinist doesnt have to be reformed, but generally all reformed are Calvinist. Reformed generally means you hold to a reformed belief. Be that the old London Baptist Confession, the Westminster Confession of Faith, Canons of Dort etc. It seperates us from Catholicism. JMac, is Calvinist but not fully reformed for example. He holds to a leaky dispensational end times view as opposed to covenant theology which is more of the old reformed tradition. We need to know what we believe and understand that "traditions" and o...

Denomination vs non denomination ✨️

Denomination vs non Denomination, what are the differences and does it matter? Denominations have a solid list of beliefs they see in Scripture and those who join their church hold to those beliefs as well. Today non denominations are a mixed bag of people with varied (and contentious) views since they stand on nothing but are like tumble weeds who embrace anything that blows along. It can mean they embrace unbiblical teachings and beliefs because they gravitate to what "tickles their ears" vs what is biblical, and ones that embrace the worlds views vs biblical truth. They don't want to officially state where they stand on a belief so they can get members and their money. Their focus isnt really on God. There's a lot of false churches and false teachers today, so we need to have a standard biblical belief we hold to. Here is a further look and clarity, as well as some belief statement examoles and also things to consider today "beyond" just a denomination...

About Enoch

Image
Enoch was an interesting character. We know very little about him but what we do know is quite fascinating. His son was named Methuselah, and he had the longest life recorded in The Bible (969 years) but he left his earthly life before his father. [Gen 5:21-24] Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Enoch were 365 years. And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him. This passage is a little unclear on what exactly happened to Enoch, but God reveals more to us in Hebrews. [Heb 11:5]  By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because God had taken him"; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. We know that Enoch was taken to Heaven without seeing death. The only other time this happened was with Elijah.   [2 Kings 2:11]  Then it happened, as they continued on...

Halloween fear 🎃

Dear Protestant, Theres no need to avoid Halloween. Halloween is just another day.  Did you know it is also Reformation Day and National Evangelism Day?  A lot of new or weak believers get scared away from "Halloween" because other weak believers or those in cults instill fear in them. We shouldnt let Satan or those people stop us from glorifying God and doing good on this day.  Acts 18:26 - "And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Aquila and Priscilla heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more accurately."  Here are some Bible verses that talk about sharing the Gospel and not fearing: Sharing the Gospel Matthew 28:19-20 - "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Mark 16:15-16 -...

Orthodox Considerations

Image
The Orthodox religion has a lot of similarities to Roman Catholic religion. The below examines Russian Orthodox but has helpful answers for those in other Orthodox religions as well.  Catholicism, Orthodox, and some Anglican/ Episcopalian, and the cults are all false groups that tried to hijack Christianity. Theyre led by Satan and deceived mass numbers of people. If you are in one of those groups reading that  might be a shock to you because no one wants to believe they and their family were duped by Satan and believed & live a lie.   What I am revealing to you (in love) is to benefit you, bless you and help you flee to the truth. If you examine what I am saying against the Bible, you will see it is the truth; the truth based in God's Word. If you read the Bible it contains all that is truth, and that (you will find out) turns out to be what is called protestantism today. It is simply the true Christianity.  God wrote to us directly through th...

What about the Jews?

Q: About Israel Serious question. I support Israel, and whatever they need to do to defend themselves. However, if Israel are God's, Chosen people, why don’t they believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? Since they do not believe that Jesus is the Messiah...why are they still considered the Chosen people? A: They are still God chosen people because God made a Covenant with Abraham. But how will this play out to completion? And, will they get to go to Heaven even though they don’t believe in Jesus is the Messiah? They must accept Jesus as they're Savior.  Being Jewish is not a free ticket to Heaven. Jesus came first to the Israelite Nation and then to the Gentiles [non Israelites; the rest of the people of the world].  The Jews of Jesus time rejected Him because he did not fit the description of what *they* "thought" Messiah would be, (they were looking at temporary earthly things, they wanted a King to overthrow Rome. They weren't looking for humanity to ...

All Food is Clean & Good

Jesus declared all food clean    Mark 7:19 and Matthew 15:11. In Mark 7:19, Jesus is engaged in a debate with the Pharisees about the importance of ceremonial washing before eating. The Pharisees believed that it was wrong to eat without first washing their hands, even if they had not touched anything unclean. Jesus argued that this was a man-made tradition that had no basis in Scripture. He then went on to say: "It is not what enters a man from outside that can defile him, but what comes out of him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a man." In Matthew 15:11, Jesus repeats this teaching in a slightly different form: "It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a man, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a man." Also when preparing a Apostle to go t...

Q: Withdraw from church and hide in our home?

Through studying Scripture, My husband and now align more with reformed views. Well yesterday our pastor had a talk with my husband and eventually told him that he shouldn't take communion on Sunday with our church. The pastor tried to covert him to Baptist. When my husband said no, he was told he wouldn't be a member of the church and was advised not to take communion. We are at a lost at what to do. We have decided to continue our family church at home. Does anyone lead a home church? Is there any advice anyone can give? A: Is there a sin issue the pastor brought up that caused the decision to run away from the chyrch? Are you refusing church discipline or is this simply about communion? If it was the pastor trying to explain Christianity; since all modern Christianity is from the reformation, then you choose to not listen to him, or he called out something as legut sinful and you refused to repent of it then yes abstaine from communion as Scripture is clear. You still nee...

What does it mean to "be saved"?

Image
What Does It Mean to Be “Saved”? People might tell you that you need to be saved. But do you feel like you’re only getting half the story? Are you like me? I get tired of sitting down in the middle of something like a story, show, etc. and wondering what’s going on. I think most people feel like this when they hear about Jesus for the first time. In my past, I would hear things like: “Good news! Good news! Here’s how to get saved: Believe in Jesus!!” I was thinking, “Saved from what? Jesus who?” Obviously, there was something missing in the approach that these well meaning Christians used with me, and it is important, then, to learn to be better witnesses. Perfect Creation . . . Then the Bad News First of all, it’s tough to understand the good news of being saved if you don’t understand the bad news. So let’s go back to the beginning. In the beginning, God created everything: Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”[1] When God created everythin...

Women roles in Church

Women Church Roles Tons of ways God uses women in Church to serve others and the Lord. It is just not Preaching or Teaching over men. Some of these extend into the community as a form of outreach but it is connected to the church. 1. **Music Team:** Women can serve as vocalists, instrumentalists, or choir members, contributing to the musical aspects of worship services. 2. **Children's Ministry:** Women can play a vital role in teaching and caring for children, organizing children's activities, and ensuring their spiritual growth. Many would argue based on Bible times that boys are children until 21, but they should have male teachers by age 12 to be a solid masculine guide. Women would do good to be taught by men Also at that age. If there's a co-teacher in teen and college age class or at least women teaching and talking with preteen thru college ages that is beneficial as an additional so they get feminine topics and teaching along side men leading the youth group in...

Q: Counseling : Smoking or Vaping

Trying to stop smoking and vaping. Q: I’ve come a long way in my journey walking with God. There’s one thing I seem like I cannot stop, and that’s vaping. I’ve been trying for a couple years now, and I seem to always cave. I’ve tried putting myself around others who are nonsmokers, going to no smoking places, and throwing away my vape. Even when I have no money to afford a vape, I’ll ask someone else to buy me a vape, or to hit there’s. It’s not as much of a mental thing, it’s more the physical side effects. I’m in middle of school right now, and when I try to stop vaping I get extremely tired, irritated, and weak. My head will feel foggy and it’s like I’m not all there. I find myself to sin even MORE when I try to stop. I can’t even last 24 hours without it.   Please pray, and offer suggestions. I could really use the help. I want to obey God as much as I can and I feel like it’s such an easy stop, but I just can’t. A:  I will be blunt but give godly advice. You will have t...

Islam, Israel or Christianity?*

Islam, Judaism and Christianity? And aree they different gods?  Well, what is truth?  The difference is they are different religions and have different gods, but Christianity has the true God.  Israel came thru Abraham, Islam didnt really come thru Ishmael but was a religion Arabs embraced.  Islam is a false religion created 600 yrs after the NT. The founder was not arab btw, but a foreigner, and he was just known by a title "Mohammed". He claimed to be visited by Gabriel [funny, why would angels who are only sent to Jews; people of the promise; only sent to Israel, all of a sudden reveal himself to some other person of a pagan nation? He wouldnt], but his wife believed it was demons that visited him, and told him so. He worked hard to try to get the Jews to bless & embrace his nonsense visions [to nefariously gain a following] and they wouldnt . So he hated them & caused them trouble. His supposed writings were not put together until over 400 years after he...
