How did Peter die?
Q: How reliable are the testimonies in Foxes book of Martyrs - Did Peter really die upside down? Not all early church history has provable evidence. Only those there & God knows. I find this idea of Peter's way of death highlyyy suspect. Because, the ones whose career it was to beat, arrest, and carry out executions, not only enjoyed their twisted job, they DO NOT CARE about your faith nor requests. They are persecuting you for it, and take pleasure in it! I will simply say he was crucified. End of story, Heavens glory. Apparently, also, Peter's death story has been widely held as a legend in church history, for a long time. The respectable Mr. Sean McDowell wrote a book about it, and did an interview here and here discussing their fates.
