Mixed Clothing

Q: Why don't Christians follow the OT if they follow the Bible, such as mixed clothing etc? A: Christians are not Israelites. Christians live under the laws of the nation they live in, and Jesus fulfilled all that God required to make us right with Him. Those laws are obsolete and were replaced with the Law of Christ. The Law of righteousness.  There's satanic ulterior motives by athiests, false teaching out there by cults, fake Christians; apostate religions, and false legalist churches, trying to deceive people on this, to confuse them. There's rarely a genuine question being asked on this, as if we're hypocrites.  About the Laws of Israel  Why Christians dont keep Jewish laws Calming concerns around legalism & mosaic laws On mixed fabrics Different types of fabric Ultimately the most important thing is not to be nitpicking on this. Scripture says why are you picking at a sliver in your brother's eye when you have a beam in your own. You're trying to judg...

Why is the Old Testament so difficult to get through?

A Bible topic was discussed and someone shared this lament: I find this very confusing. And every time I try to read Deuteronomy or any of the Old Testament books it throws me off so much that I just skip it it go to the New Testament, because I don't know what I'm reading. A: I hope this article can help you. Pastor and Bible Teacher John MacArthur has a OT series that can help. You can find the mini series sermons below. Skip the links here until you read this page.  I will note the OT does have various laws for Israel, and its to govern an entire nation whom God was calling them to be and to live as a light to all nations. They failed to do that and later in wrong attitudes thought only they were the ones saved. And stopped being a light to the world. The laws were Moral Laws, Ceremonial Laws, Civil Laws, Judicial Laws, Health Laws, Social Laws, Land Laws, & Employmemt Laws. Among the laws is The 10C. Which is the only one we Believers look at. They are a reflection of ...

OT overview, Judaism & Jesus

Q: I am new to the Bible and Christianity. I haven't found a church yet, and need some help:  The Bible says that’s while visiting the temple in Jerusalem at age twelve, Jesus became separated from his parents and was inadvertently left behind. Upon returning to Jerusalem three days later, his worried parents found him at the temple listening to the teachers and amazing those around him with his understanding. What was the temple for? What were they teaching back then? If Jesus was still a kid what religion was being practiced and how did people already know about God? A: They knew about God because Adam and Eve taught their children and people knew forever since. Plus we have Creation that is called "Natural Revelation". If we were in a far flung tribe somewhere and had no idea about God, a person would wonder who made it all and God would send a missionary to that person and people. Today in the West [and many countries who interact with the West] people can see God ...

Helps for understanding the OT?

Q: Tips for understanding the Old Testament & just biblical history in general? 1. Hermeneutics (this is an answer to non believers on Scripture, but also has stuff in there for believers... & linked resources too.) 2. This has cool stuff about Jesus in the OT 3. The app StudyBible.org has loads of free stuff that is useful for studying. If you click a verse a resources button shows up and in that are faq, articles and sermons that point you to that or related topic. (Test it out w a NT verse to see). 4. You can get historical info from solid sermons and commentaries. The above app is a good place as are good reputable Study Bibles, (See books link below for those). 5. Here is a bonus:  really good resource for growing believers . 😀 God bless!

is the Old Testament relevant?

Image
Q: Some people say the Old Testament is irrelevant and we should ignore it. Advice?  A: Absolutely ignore and run from anyone who says or teaches the OT is unnecessary . Heres some things to consider.... The OT tells us about creation, God's perfection, man's fall, when death entered the world, that God promised a Messiah Savior [in Eden], it teaches about the temporary sacrifices and why they are needed. It tells of God's universal moral law and specific laws like the 10C. OT constant shows God's holiness and perfection, righteousness, justice, and guidance. It sets precedents for national laws [ which America is founded on Biblically]. It gives shadows, types and all of those points to Christ. It talks about forgiveness, restoration, & love. It gives prophecies on Christ thru the Prophets and teaches on holy living. The OT points to Christ, additionally still has prophecies yet to be fulfilled. And, it gives wisdom in proverbs, and great lessons across the OT. Bt...

Does the Old Testament matter?

False preachers today want Christians to "unhitch" themselves from the OT. It is very arrogant and wicked to hold that view. In fact anyone who does, is very very highly likely not saved.  The OT right at the beginning reveals Creation, man's sin, the promised Savior, and continues on to point to the Holiness, Justice & Mercy of God, and the sinfulness of man at his core nature. Plus NT reveals the Law (OT) was the schoolmaster to bring us to Christ.   How many Christians even understand that the NT didnt actually start until Jesus Ascension? They want to throw out the Gospels and Jesus too. And just hold onto a few bits if wisdom in the NT and thats it. Feel good quotes.  👉These folks who advocate to throw away the OT clearly want to get rid of Jesus too, so they can sin to their hearts content.  Only those who do not understand nor have a basic understanding of God & Jesus in the OT would want to throw it out, for sin reasons and idolatry. They also t...

Answers about The Law*

Under Construction Short Answer: The Law is more than the 613 and more than just the 10C. It includes not only anything in the OT, but also includes for all unsaved people the Universal Law. Scripture tells us God has put it in all humans hearts and conscience as part of our design. And that we know instinctively right from wrong because of it. God also revealed in Scripture that people hide from the truth and suppress the truth, and seer their conscience so they sin and commit worse sins [in thought word and deed all their lives].  1. So theres the universal Law revealed in OT & NT.  2. The Mosaic Law for Israelites only And both of those overlap, such as dont lie, dont murder.  3. Then there's the Law of Christ for Christians; the law of liberty.  Laws were always about righteousness, the perfect righteous holiness of God and that we all fall far from that perfect standard - because of the fall and our now sin nature.  If we walk in Christ we walk in r...

Why Christians Do Not Follow Everything in the Bible

Why dont Christians follow everything the Bible says? First, the reason there is confusion on this because the unsaved [spirirually blind] cannot understand the Scriptures as the born again do, [see with spiritual eyes; by the Holy Spirit].  Here are a few verses about spiritual blindness: 2 Corinthians 4:4 - "The god of this age [Satan] has blinded the minds of unbelievers , so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." John 9:39-41 - Jesus said, For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see...  [given Spiritual sight] Isaiah 6:9-10 - [people can be] ever hearing, but never understanding; ever seeing, but never perceiving. [Spiritual blindness] Proverbs 4:18-19 - The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble. John 12:39-40 - For this reason they c...
