What is needed to enter Heaven

Why people cannot enter Heaven: 1. They're sinners.  2. They're not perfect.  Nothing unholy can be in God's presence & live. He must punish sin wherever it is found. • Exodus 3:5: "And He said, 'Do not come near....for the place where you are standing is holy ground.'" • Exodus 33:12-14: "And Moses said to the Lord, 'Please show me Your glory.' And He said, ...'You cannot see My face, for no man shall see Me and live.' • Psalm 5:4: "For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; Evil shall not dwell with You." • Revelation 21:27: "But nothing unclean will ever enter it... only those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life."    • Hebrews 12:14: Without holiness no one will see the Lord. "The Bible says, 'All unrighteousness is sin' (1 John 5:17). To get into Heaven, we must have perfect righteousness. God says, 'Be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect' (M...

Grace based vs Works based & why it matters

Q: When considering joining the Coptic/Catholic/Orthodox religion what are the things one should focus on the most? I’ve been to the church and felt a connection but how do I learn more? Is it just by reading the Bible and praying?  What are the steps to knowing it’s the right choice? A: Is there a reason you would move to a "works based religion" vs the "grace based" faith of actual biblical Christianity? If that question confuses you, look a bit briefly into this here .  For further clarity here is the difference between these two systems: So the Bible clearly teaches that we are sinners. We are not perfect. Therefore since Eden God promised a Savior who would [as the rest of the Bible further teaches] take away the sins of the World. So when God came to do the work it was to pay our debt in full to God through Jesus. It was fully paid by the work Jesus did if we obey the Gospel. God's grace is unmerited favor. It means we are getting what we dont deserv...

Grace and Mercy

Image
Through Christ's sacrifice a just and legal transaction happens. Grace is where you are guilty but someone pays your fine for you. Mercy is where you are guilty but someone frees you from paying the penalty. God has done both in Christ. Plus it includes forgiveness  (not just the debt)  from the one whom the crime was committed against [God]. And in all of this he showed his love towards us that while we were his enemies he still came to die for us [in our place] so we could recieve the above, a restored fellowship with Him [which was severed in Eden] and eternal life. Here is an illistration   If you stood in court before a judge and you had 5 speeding tickets, the judge is just in declaring you a criminal and requiring you to fully pay that debt. He doesnt need to have compassion, mercy or grace towards you. The law is the law. The debt is the debt. The crime requires justice. If the lady said she didnt know she had that many.  She then explains that her 17 yr old...
