Q: The Protestant theology of salvation; "trust in Jesus for salvation" seems to make so much sense to me, and it seems to be obvious from Scripture. But I really struggle to understand if it is this obvious , how did so many people end up in Catholicism? And have the billions of people who lived since Jesus time, who followed the Catholic Church all been damned to hell ? I really struggle with this.  A: God opens the eyes of those he will save.
