God is perfectly  holy and we as fallen ones lost perfection when Sin entered thru Adam. Q: What is a good way to use the Bible for a beginner- studier. I want to mark important things in the Bible but am not sure how to go about this. It could get messy fast or become 100% highlighted 😅. ---- Today is definitely a spiritual struggle. I was planning on doing a Bible study today, now I'm not feeling up to it. Is this what Paul means by not doing what he ought to do, yet knowing what he ought to do, but not doing it🙃😔?? But I thought maybe I should start highlighting and making notes in my Bible so that years from now my Bible would be a testament to how much time I put into the Word. One of the last things Jesus did before his death was prepare the Apostles for the work they would do to proclaim the Gospel after the resurrection. Matthew 10:1-42: This passage details Jesus calling his twelve disciples and giving them authority to heal and cast out demons. He then instructs them on how to conduct their mission trip, including traveling light and relying on the hospitality of others. Mark 6:7-13: Here, Jesus summons the twelve, equips them with power and authority, and sends them out two by two to preach and heal. Similar to Matthew's account, Jesus provides instructions for their journey. Luke 9:1-6: Luke's gospel also describes Jesus gathering the twelve, granting them power to heal and expel demons, and dispatching them to proclaim the kingdom of God. Why did God give mankind a special revelation? What is the purpose of the Scriptures?  A: The Word starts at Creation and tells us of the Fall and sin. The point of the OT is to tell us that God promised to destroy the power of death, the NT tells us how He did it. The OT promises the Messiah to save us from our sins (the wages of sin is death, and the just punishment for sin is eternal damnation), and the NT reveals Him [Jesus], shows how He fulfilled the prophecies & promise of God.
