Apostles proclaimed the Messiah
One of the last things Jesus did before his death was prepare the Apostles for the work they would do to proclaim the Gospel after the resurrection. Matthew 10:1-42: This passage details Jesus calling his twelve disciples and giving them authority to heal and cast out demons. He then instructs them on how to conduct their mission trip, including traveling light and relying on the hospitality of others. Mark 6:7-13: Here, Jesus summons the twelve, equips them with power and authority, and sends them out two by two to preach and heal. Similar to Matthew's account, Jesus provides instructions for their journey. Luke 9:1-6: Luke's gospel also describes Jesus gathering the twelve, granting them power to heal and expel demons, and dispatching them to proclaim the kingdom of God. Like the other Gospels, Jesus offers guidance for their mission. <<< return to prev pg
