What is needed to enter Heaven

Why people cannot enter Heaven: 1. They're sinners.  2. They're not perfect.  Nothing unholy can be in God's presence & live. He must punish sin wherever it is found. • Exodus 3:5: "And He said, 'Do not come near....for the place where you are standing is holy ground.'" • Exodus 33:12-14: "And Moses said to the Lord, 'Please show me Your glory.' And He said, ...'You cannot see My face, for no man shall see Me and live.' • Psalm 5:4: "For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; Evil shall not dwell with You." • Revelation 21:27: "But nothing unclean will ever enter it... only those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life."    • Hebrews 12:14: Without holiness no one will see the Lord. "The Bible says, 'All unrighteousness is sin' (1 John 5:17). To get into Heaven, we must have perfect righteousness. God says, 'Be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect' (M...

Is God bloodthirsty?

Image
Q: Is God bloodthirtsty?  A: No.  While some attempt to explain this, most dont fully explain it well.(1) Here is what needs to be understood: The issue has to do with "perfection". God is perfectly  holy and we as fallen ones lost perfection when Sin entered thru Adam. The focus [in answering a question like this] needs to be on explaining it from this lense.  All Sin = is crime against God. All sin is an assault on God's character and nature, as we as his creation were made in His Image and to live righteously. Since Adam lost that righteous nature at the Fall, we all only deserve death AND damnation (since 1. in eternity; after death, we cannot be in His presence. Though made to have a relationship, a fellowship with God, its impossible both while we are sinners AND after death). 2. God must, as a just Judge, punish criminals.  When this is understood rightly, not only does it have to be punished eternal (since we are eternal beings), but beca...

Clarity on "the Law" in evangelism

There are people who have studied biblical evangelism and are having a hard time getting their pastor onboard with biblical evangelism.  Remember, not every church is a biblical church and not every pastor is saved. Shocking but true.  Many pastors have bought into a false gospel. It has been around a long time.   Either  *they dont see the need for a outreach from in the church to reach locals to add new believers to the church, Or  *They focus on easy believism.  >they dont have any focus on sin when they preach the Gospel >they remove repentance as a necessary part of getting right with God, >they misunderstand the purpose of the Law, >they dont want to reveal peoples sins and only want to focus on love. But by doing so miss that love is not actually lived out without truth.  And  *They reject teaching on the biblical Gospel or misunderstand such teachings. >they misunderstand gospel training courses such as the one taught by Joh...

The Law of Christ

The Law of Christ.  To get started read Romans 7 and 8, or the entire book of Romans.  Rom. 8:2 tells us about The Law of the Spirit of life in Christ. This law has freed those who are "born again" from the Law of sin and death. If you read Romans 8:1-11 you will see in verse 10 the body is dead because of sin but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. So, Christ's righteousness "covers you" because of the redemption transaction, [he traded places with you on the cross], but also the Holy Spirit then lives in you [permanently eternally indwelling]. This is what Scripture reveals to us. So you now have been transformed by God into a new creation, you have the righteous nature now.  There may be times where information on this site speaks of dragging your old body or war-ing with sin but that is really meaning you are to live in righteousness. You are not totally free of this body until you shed it as you step through the doorway of eternity where God wi...

Atheist asks: What kind of God??

Q: What kind of God is this?? In the Bible He commands a follower to: KILL adulterers (Lev 20:10) KILL all witches (Ex22:18) KILL all blasphemers (Lev 24:14) KILL false prophets (Zech 13:3) KILL fortune tellers (Lev 20:27) KILL anyone who sins (Ezek 18:4) Kill the curious (1Sam 6:19,20) KILL all non-Hebrews (Dt 20:16,17) KILL sons of sinners (Isa 14:21) KILL non-believers (2Chron 15:12,13) KILL anyone who curses God (Lev 24:16) KILL any child who hits a parent (Ex 21:15) KILL children who disobey parents (Dt 21:20) KILL those who work on the Sabbath (Ex 31:15) KILL disobedient children (Ex 21:17) (Mk 7:10) KILL strangers close to a church (Num 1: 48-51) KILL all males after winning battles (Dt 20:13) KILL those who curse father or mother (Lev 20:9) KILL men who have sex with other men (Lev 20:13) KILL any bride discovered not to be a virgin (Dt 22:21) KILL those who worship the wrong God (Num 25:1-9) KILL anyone who does not observe the Sabbath (Ex 31:14) KILL e...

If people could see Hell for a second

If people could see Hell for a second, wouldnt they turn to Jesus & get saved?  Scripture speaks on Hell & they can read it there. We also see the seriousness of it across Scripture and in all of Revelation.  If they understood sin theyd make sure they were saved. We need to present the gospel well in order to do that. It is why the unsaved from the world who found their way into a church arent the only mission field there, church is full of false converts who claim to be believers, so theres a mission field but their salvation wont likely happen without a revival. Unless they  see their need for righteousness  after hearing of the perfect Holy God, they will not want him now nor when in Hell.  I was watching a Ray Comfort witnessing video ytd, and thinking about when we share,  we could ask them  to close their eyes and think about how horrible Hell would be (list some things while eyes shut or before), and have them do the same when you get t...

Answers about The Law*

Under Construction Short Answer: The Law is more than the 613 and more than just the 10C. It includes not only anything in the OT, but also includes for all unsaved people the Universal Law. Scripture tells us God has put it in all humans hearts and conscience as part of our design. And that we know instinctively right from wrong because of it. God also revealed in Scripture that people hide from the truth and suppress the truth, and seer their conscience so they sin and commit worse sins [in thought word and deed all their lives].  1. So theres the universal Law revealed in OT & NT.  2. The Mosaic Law for Israelites only And both of those overlap, such as dont lie, dont murder.  3. Then there's the Law of Christ for Christians; the law of liberty.  Laws were always about righteousness, the perfect righteous holiness of God and that we all fall far from that perfect standard - because of the fall and our now sin nature.  If we walk in Christ we walk in r...

Hell or Righteousness

Image
Do Christians share the Gospel of God to help us escape Hell, is it about righteousness, or both? Or more? Primarily it is about the desire to have and live in righteousness.  Ultimately, it is to have a restored standing with God; to live as we were designed to.   Yes there is an aspect of avoiding Hell and Judgment as Scripture says. Note:  even if He didn't save any of us, as our Creator and God we should worship, revear & properly fear him, and obey... regardless.  Christians know Judgment is coming. This world is going down in flames (like the titanic), the redeemed ones are directing people into the lifeboats (Jesus); just as God directed Noah into the Ark, Christians are directing people into the boat of salvation where righteousness is. Salvation isnt ultimately about escaping Hell, it is about desiring righteousness, having the righteousness of Christ  [which also does cover & shelters you from Judgment & punishment of your sins], and ...
